Project Surveyor

South Plainfield, New Jersey

Overview

Project Surveyor will assist and work directly under the Principal Land Surveyor. He/she will oversee projects and junior staff as assigned to him/her. May have to attend meetings in the office, on project site, and at client offices. Must be fully capable of directing a field crew(s), and office staff sufficiently to prepare and complete a final survey. Experience with various survey software and field to finish methods are a must. Will be held accountable for time schedules, and meeting set budgets. Will assist in proposal development, scheduling, invoicing, and client relations. Occasional field survey may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Principal Land Surveyor
  • Coordinate project schedules
  • QA/QC of all survey documents
  • Supervise field crews
  • Equipment and supply management
  • Budgeting and project cost control
  • Proposal preparation, billing reports, and invoicing

  • Must be able to drive to job sites and comfortably over-see projects at those job site which includes mobility once at the job-site

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience
  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor desireable
  • Comprehensive knowledge of surveys and field operations
  • Ability to manage staff and projects
  • Ability to assign and prioritize work

Preferences

  • Experience working with MicroStation and AutoCAD software
