Overview

Structural Engineer shall assist Senior Project Manager to develop structural engineering design reports, design development drawings and final construction documents. This person will develop the structural design from concept, schematic, then to final, and assist throughout the construction phases. Structural Engineer will perform periodic special inspections during construction. He/She will assist in proposal preparation and may oversee and train entry level engineering staff.

Experience

  • Possess a B.S. in Civil Engineering, required.
  • Requires minimum 4 years of professional structural engineering design experience in real estate development sector.
  • Design experience in analysis of structural systems, building design, permanent foundation and earth retaining structures, temporary structural systems, and performing structural evaluations.
  • Must have design experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design.
  • Must have a working knowledge of all local building codes and ordinances governing the design of structures including but not limited to the NYC Building Code.
  • Must have design experience in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Must have knowledge in using RISA 2D/3D software or similar.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications as well as strong design skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients.

Preferences

  • M.S. in Civil Engineering, preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of New Jersey and/or State of New York, preferred.
  • Experience mentoring staff.
