Site/Civil Assistant Project Engineer (5-7 Years' Experience)

Overview

Seeking an Assistant Project Engineer for the Site/Civil division to assist with a wide range of projects with the energy, healthcare, education and government sectors. Some duties will include preparation of AutoCAD drawings, reports and technical specifications. Site design tasks will include city zoning analysis, site layout, site grading, storm sewer design, sanitary sewer design, water main design, project phasing and other site design components. This position requires work primarily out of South Plainfield, NJ office (Headquarters).

Responsibilities

  • Work with other engineers on multi-discipline teams
  • Manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively with managers, clients, and contractors



Physical Requirements:

Experience

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • E.I.T.
  • Qualified to pursue Professional Engineering license (P.E.) within one to two years
  • Minimum five years of relevant site/civil engineering experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD and intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Intermediate knowledge of HydroCAD or other hydrologic modeling software
  • Some project management experience
  • Familiar with NJ codes and permitting standards
  • Familiar with NJ planning board and zoning board process
  • Familiar with NJ ordinances and site plan application process
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work with other engineers on multi-discipline teams
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, clients, and contractors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong design skills
  • Motivated and excited to grow with a small firm and the potential to advance with the company
  • Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
  • Background check

Preferences

  • Experience managing entry-level staff on projects
  • Invoicing experience
