Project Overview

MFS Engineers & Surveyors (MFS) provided professional structural engineering services for the LaGuardia Airport (LGA) Terminal Replacement project located in Queens, New York. The particular contract comprised of the demolition of the existing Central Terminal Building (CTB) to allow for new connecting bridges between the new Head House and Concourses, as well as providing ways for airplane taxis. MFS was retained by M. Castedo Architects (MCA) in support of the proposed project.

Project Details

MFS’ Structural Engineering team provided a structural analysis of the existing Central Terminal Building throughout the various stages of demolition and provided shoring design, as required, to maintain stability of the structure at the demolition cut lines. Additionally, MFS provided Demolition Scope of Work drawings to support the demolition of the existing structure, which delineated the scope and limits of the demolition to procure a demolition contractor.
