Project Details

During the Preliminary Engineering Phase, the team established survey control in accordance with NJDOT Article 44 CAD Standards and tied all horizontal and vertical control to the New Jersey State Plane Coordinate System (NAD83) and NAVD88 datums. Services included preparation of a Survey Control Report, conducting a Topographic Survey at Washington Avenue Elementary School, and preparing detailed Base Maps. The topographic survey captured roadway features, utilities, drainage structures, ADA ramps, and property boundaries. Cross sections were obtained at 50-foot intervals, and right-of-way (ROW) lines were developed using tax maps, deeds, NJGIN data, and field evidence. Base maps were generated with digital terrain models (DTMs) and planimetric features, delivered in both MicroStation and AutoCAD formats to meet NJDOT Article 51 Digital Submission Standards.

The Final Design Phase involved Supplemental Surveys using the established control network to provide updated planimetric, topographic, and boundary data as required. Deliverables included updated digital mapping files, revised contours, ROW information, and terrain models in compliance with NJDOT requirements.

This project incorporated NJDOT-compliant methodologies, including Topographic Surveys, Base Line Surveys, Profile and Cross Sections for Highways, and experience with the NJ Map Filing Law for ROW Mapping. The team demonstrated proficiency in preparing ROW maps with parcel descriptions and ensured all CADD deliverables adhered to NJDOT Article 51 and 44 standards.
