Project Overview

MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided professional land surveying services for the proposed Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) facility at the former Admiral Halsey Service Area.

Project Details

MFS’s survey team established survey control and conducted a comprehensive topographic survey of the proposed CVI site. Utilizing GNSS RTN and Leica SmartNet, MFS established a primary survey control pair for the project. Supplemental survey control points were established as needed. Differential leveling was performed using GNSS RTN-derived elevations, incorporating the survey control. All survey data was tied to NAD 83(2011) NJ2900 State Plane horizontal datum and North American Vertical Datum, 1988 (NAVD 88).

A topographic survey of the proposed CVI facility was completed, which included the observation of manmade surface features such as buildings, fences, utilities, pads, guide rails, and edges of pavement. Key ground surface breakline features, including top and bottom slopes, swales, and ditches, were also observed, along with random spot elevations.

Using the collected field data, MFS generated topographic mapping with 1-foot contours. The final mapping was prepared and delivered in MicroStation V8i/SelectCAD format, according to the client’s specifications.

Project deliverables included digital topographic mapping with 1-foot contours and primary survey control field sketches with ties. Access to the proposed facility was arranged by the client, and no MPT or roadway access permits were required.

MFS developed and presented a project completion schedule following the finalization of the agreement and authorization of any options.
